Exposed to toxic mold spores while attending Perquimans Middle School and the Accelerated Learning Center, Theresa Gay’s eighth-grader suffered serious asthma attacks and a variety of other symptoms. She has filed a lawsuit alleging the Perquimans County Schools discriminated against her son, who has a disability, by not providing “a clean learning environment.” He has a history of asthma, rhinitis, and hearing deficits, is allergic to grass, weeds, dogs, dust mites and mold.

Mold found in the courtroom and the office area attributed to years of roof issues and moisture has caused the crucial offices to be moved to two vacant offices located at Neosho City Hall, 203 E. Main, in the next few weeks.

From the book covers in the east file room, to the water stains on ceiling tiles and in the attic, from the mold along the back wall, floors and foyer wall, to the foyer, a local mold inspector recorded significant mold, due to a leak in guttering and a hole in the brick at the foundation level.

The city can’t afford repair. So they’re moving.

Ironically, this the same building was vacated by police a few years ago. Repairs were been cost-prohibitive then, too.

If you’re suffering from a winter cold symptoms that only go away when you leave your house, what you’ve got is probably not a cold at all. It’s most likely an allergy.

One of the most common house allergies is to indoor mold. We’re not even referring to the toxic mycotoxins that mold creates. Even if there’s no mold currently growing, the human body develops a sensitivity to the proteins the cell walls of the spores are made of. This respiratory allergy accounts for much of the breathing problems (coughing, wheezing and hacking) that afflict families whose have residences where mold has taken a foothold.

Check for mold around where a water incursion may have occurred-around windows, doors, plumbing and roofing leaks. Check in areas like bathrooms and laundry rooms where high humidity has no outlet.

Mold in an apartment possibly threatening a Vista del Valle apartment tenant’s unborn baby. She’s been afflicted with nausea, vomiting, headaches, sinus infection, wheezing, coughing, sore throat, and says the “board was so rotted you could stick your finger right through into the drywall.” On seeing the mold, a maintenance man said, “Oh, oh, this is bad, really bad,’ walking backwards, and he exited the apartment.”

Feb., 5, a microbiologist cleared Ms. Coughlin’s unit according to Nevada standards.

Today’s harvest of mold complaints is pretty much status quo. Someone in Oregon wondering if they can sue their landlord over a moldy window sill (not unless the mold has actually hurt the tenant, and even then the lawsuit is doubtful); how do I know if my house is moldy? (um, look? Get an inspection); Can moldy organic peanuts hurt me? (ALL peanuts have some mold, organic peanuts are likely to have more mold. Just because something is organic doesn’t mean it is perfect);

Mold keeps growing in the world, and we keep fielding answers about it.

Goland Services Property Management has been notified by a tenant of mold taking over a Sacramento duplex.

Mold in the apartment covers every available surface, window sills, etc. Furniture and clothes have been tossed to try to control the spread. And the tenants can’t afford to move.
