Damp Building Effect

The phrase toxic mold syndrome should be replaced by damp building effect, which refers to a well-documented effect. Mold is certainly part of the picture but doctors can’t always define if it is an allergy, mold toxin, or some other factor combined with degrading building materials. There is currently no accurate way to measure mold toxins in damp buildings, although they are there. It is impossible to know what degree and how the toxic mold is doing what it is doing to cause illness. Until scientists catch up to disease, we should all stop arguing and simply work at collecting more data to help everyone refine the issues involved.
