Parking lot possible over mold facility

The building and property has since been given to the parish, and former Terrebonne Parish Mental Health Center in Houma begins soon, but toxic mold inside is a concern.

Beginning March 28, 23,000-square-foot building will be stripped of the toxic mold and asbestos.

Originally renovation was planned, but remediation costs more than rebuilding.

They are considering paving over the mental health center and just putting up a parking lot.
