First the Rain, Then the Mold–Hawaii Braces for the Clean-up

With all the flood damage to private property, there are a lot of homes and businesses being examined to determine the extent of the damage.

As we know, water damage today leads to mold tomorrow. The restoration companies are hopping, extracting water where they can, trying to get a grip on the situation before mold sets in. The Red Cross is providing food, shelter and clothing.

Hawaii’s governor declared a disaster for two islands Kauai and Oahu on Tuesday after three days of relentless rain, lightning, rockslides and water-clogged roads, dangerous surf, and manholes overflowing with waste-water flowing into the ocean, school cancellations, flash flood warnings, and floating debris.
