After 8 months, Kane County’s morgue will be reopening after mold remediation.
The coroner is having an open house from 9:45 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10.
Coroner Rob Russell said, “The detection of mold was the apex of this dysfunctional facility,”
Testing confirmed it was not highly toxic mold, but an allergenic mold that needed to be remediated, Russell said.
