Mold Exposure and Water Damage

Residences which expose tenants to mold are a liability for landlords, managers and construction firms. Not only should a building have adequate ventilation, it should also have no leaks or water incursion. If a residence provides a hospitable respite for mold, it does not provide a habitable residence for humans. Mold exposure can lead to allergy and illness.

Of particular concern are areas prone to flooding, excessive rain, or area humidity.

Although there are paints which are made to kill fungi and resist mold, it is best to apply them to clean, dry, mold free surfaces, (such as new drywall) for optimum performance. Painting a layer of anti-mold paint over an infested surface is not adequate solution.
