Mold Infestation Closes Washtucna P.O.

Mail service in Washtucna Washington has been nonexistent since APRIL when the post office was shut down due to mold contamination.

Apparently the people who bought the old post office offered to renovate and lease it back. (One wonders why the fee paid for the post office building has not been quickly turned around into another building.)

It’s not a large town, only 260 according to the FACTFINDER. But in the US, even a small town of 260 should be able to get mail delivery rather than have to drive 12 miles away to Hooper (a place so small it disappears when you go to a close up on google maps.)

Hopefully the post office will be able to find suitable mold-free quarters, though in rainy Washington, that may be a challenge. And in the meantime, residents have to drive 24 miles round trip to get their mail.

If you’re in California, you might want to give us a call and see about getting an assessment from Byebyemold.
